The revegetation of silver mine tailings at Elsa, Yukon, using Sudbury native grasses and agronomic grasses was undertaken and the use of fertilizer, lime, organic amendments, and maintenance were investigated. Deschampsia caespitosa was found to be the only suitable native grass and Poa pratensis and Agrostis gigantea were the best agronomic grasses. The tolerance of D. caespitosa to cadmium and zinc was studied and discussed.

Harvey and Mark D. Pagel. Raven () estimates that in Onagraceae “self-pollination has evolved at least times independently, and more likely well over twice that often.” Further, in the autogamous groups of the Onagraceae there is a tendency for loss of floral parts (Raven ).
